Report: Yamamoto officially posted by MLB
Star Japanese right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto is officially a free agent.
Yamamoto has been posted by Major League Baseball, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.
The 45-day window to negotiate with Yamamoto begins at 8 a.m. ET on Tuesday morning.
The Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, and New York Yankees are among a number of teams reportedly interested in signing Yamamoto.
The 25-year-old is the three-time reigning Sawamura Award winner as Japan's top pitcher. Yamamoto was excellent in 2023 for the NPB's Orix Buffaloes, racking up 17 wins with a minuscule 1.16 ERA and 176 strikeouts over 171 innings.
He owns a career 70-29 record with a 1.82 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 922 strikeouts across 897 innings over his seven-year career for the Buffaloes.
