Roberts: Urias was best option in 8th, still slated to start Game 4
Urias allowed two runs on three hits in the inning and left with the game tied. Despite the collapse and eventual 5-4 loss, Roberts said postgame that he felt Urias was the best option in that spot, according to Juan Toribio of MLB.com.
With left-handed hitters Eddie Rosario and Freddie Freeman leading off the frame, Roberts turned to his southpaw starter to shut the door. Left-hander Alex Vesia recorded a pair of outs earlier in the game, and while Justin Bruihl was on the bench, he pitched an inning in Saturday's contest.
Urias, who threw 14 pitches in his lone inning of work Sunday, is still slated to start Game 4 on Wednesday in Los Angeles, Roberts said, according to The Athletic's Andy McCullough.
Dodgers right-hander Max Scherzer, who started Sunday on just two days' rest after a relief appearance against the Giants, is confident Urias will be fine.
