Magnussen takes 1st career pole for Brazilian GP sprint race

Haas' Kevin Magnussen finished first in Friday's qualifying session to take his first career pole position for Saturday's sprint race for the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos in Sao Paulo.

The drivers will compete for season-long standings points and set the grid for Sunday's race during the third and final sprint of the season.
It's Haas' first pole position since joining F1 before the 2016 season.
"I don't know what to say," Magnussen said. "The team put me out on track at exactly the right moment. We're on pole. It's incredible."

The Brazilian Grand Prix is the penultimate race of the 2022 season. The campaign will conclude in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 19.
