Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell set a new record Friday for the most points scored in a single WNBA season, overtaking the previous record of 1,021 set by A'ja Wilson in 2024.

Mitchell eclipsed Wilson's tally Friday with a 3-pointer from the elbow midway through the third quarter against the Toronto Tempo.

The bucket also gave Mitchell 22 points in the contest, extending her record streak of games with at least 20 points to 25.

Mitchell entered Friday averaging a career-best 25 points but may need to maintain that momentum through the final portion of the season in order to keep Wilson from reclaiming her record. The Las Vegas Aces star and four-time MVP is currently at 991 total points and is likely to overtake her previous best with three regular-season games still to play.
