Bueckers, the No. 1 pick in this year's draft, led all first-year players in scoring (19.2 points per game), assists (5.4), and average minutes (33.3). She also ranked second among rookies in steals (1.6) and seventh in rebounds (3.9). She started all 36 of her appearances and missed just eight games.
The Wings guard was voted Rookie of the Year by 70 of 72 WNBA writers and broadcasters. Washington Mystics guard Sonia Citron was the only other player to receive consideration for the award.
Bueckers is the second Wings player to win Rookie of the Year since the franchise moved to Dallas for the 2016 season. Allisha Gray, now with the Atlanta Dream, was the team's last recipient in 2017. Cheryl Ford was the first player in franchise history to capture the honor, winning in 2003 as a member of the Detroit Shock.
