With no baseball on the immediate horizon, some players are looking ahead to the 2021 World Baseball Classic.

MLB Network posted a video of Adam Jones' stunning catch from the 2017 WBC on Instagram, and several members of Team USA that year chimed in, saying they're ready to go after a second consecutive title.

New York Mets right-hander Marcus Stroman was one of the players leading the charge to recruit various standouts like San Diego Padres first baseman Eric Hosmer and Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich, both of whom were part of the championship squad in 2017.

Stroman wasn't done there. He took to Twitter to ask Mike Trout, Mookie Betts, Cody Bellinger, Trevor Story, Walker Buehler, Aaron Judge, Trevor Bauer, Pete Alonso, Jeff McNeil, and Bo Bichette.

Bellinger led the chorus of respondents:

Alonso, Buehler, and Story also replied to Stroman, throwing their hats in the ring. Alonso even said he "might cry" if he's named to the team.

Stroman later announced that Mike Clevinger and Nolan Arenado told him that they'd be joining his "Dream Team" as well.

Trevor Bauer weighed in as well, saying he'd "drop just about anything" to don a USA jersey again, which led to Tampa Bay Rays lefty Blake Snell also showing his interest.

March 22 will be the three-year anniversary of Team USA's victory over Puerto Rico. With spring games now canceled and with the 2020 regular season on hold, MLB Network will be showing World Baseball Classic footage from morning to night that culminates with a replay of Team USA's second-round victory over the Dominican Republic and its championship win versus Puerto Rico.

The 2021 edition of the World Baseball Classic is scheduled to take place March 9-23, with the field expanding from 16 to 20 teams. Games will be held in Taiwan, Japan, and the United States.
