Canadians stun Scheffler, Burns at Presidents Cup

On paper, Friday's opening match of Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns versus Nick Taylor and Corey Conners should have been the most lopsided one of Day 2 at the Presidents Cup.

The Canadians' combined world ranking is 140, while Scheffler and Burns sit first and eighth, respectively. However, Scheffler has shown numerous times throughout his underwhelming Presidents Cup career that the game isn't played on paper, leaving the door open for an upset at Medinah.

The back-and-forth match saw Taylor and Conners take a 1-up lead to the 18th, but a wayward drive forced a pitch-out to the fairway for the International Team. Taylor then played hero by nearly holing out from 148 yards to secure par and force Burns to make his 18-footer for birdie.

Burns' attempt lipped out, and the Canadians walked off with a stunning upset.
