Bruins' Lucic calls Canadiens' Emelin 'a chicken', denies claims of retaliatory spear
Bruins forward Milan Lucic cried "fowl" after Boston's 2-1 shootout loss to Montreal on Monday, referring to a hip check delivered by the Canadiens defenseman in the first period (check out the post below this one for video of the hit).
(1/3) Lucic on Emelin: "Whether it's fair, legal or whatever you want to call it, if he wasn't scared, he would stand up..." #Bruins #Habs

(2/3): hit me and not go after my knees. It just shows how big of a chicken he is that he needs to go down like that to take me down" #Habs

(3/3) Lucic on Emelin: "It shows what kind of player he is, and on my end, you know you've got to keep your guard up at all times." #Bruins

Later in the game, Lucic poked back with a spear to Emelin's nether regions. According to John Lu of TSN, however, Lucic would not go as far as to classify the incident as a spear.
Judge for yourself.
Add it all up, and the tension between these two players only served to highlight the bitterness that exists in the midst of one of the NHL's great rivalries.
