GIF: Derek MacKenzie can't get up after snapping his skate blade off
He didn't stand a chance. Columbus Blue Jackets forward Derek MacKenzie couldn't understand why he couldn't get up off the ice. Did he suddenly forget how to skate? Stranger things have happened.
When MacKenzie went into the boards in the corner, the blade of his skate came off. He stayed down on one knee and left the ice with help of a trainer to repair his skate.
