Kessel scores 30th goal of the season, completes hat trick
The Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators were all tied up, and Phil Kessel had something to say about that. The Leafs would only hold the lead for a moment as a goal was awarded to Chris Neil that apparently nobody saw happen.
On the power play for his second goal of the night, Kessel went top shelf through a crowd and somehow did not break the net with the laser that came off his stick.
Just moments later Kessel would score the 5th hat trick of his career and his 30th goal this season.
Phil Kessel is the first Maple Leafs player with two career hat tricks against Ottawa.
