Islanders' fan-designed jersey competition down to 8 finalists

The New York Islanders unveiled eight finalists for their fan-designed alternate jersey contest on Tuesday.

The club announced it received over 80,000 submissions for the NHL's first-ever fan-driven design contest. Here are the handful that made the cut:

Fan voting will take place in a bracket format starting Wednesday, and the winner will be unveiled later in August. The Islanders will wear the winning jersey during the 2027-28 season.

Current Islanders players had a say in the vote as well.

The Islanders haven't had a third jersey in their rotation since 2024.
