Los Angeles Kings captain Anze Kopitar departed Monday's game against the Minnesota Wild with a lower-body injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest, the team announced.
It's unclear how Kopitar suffered the injury.
The 38-year-old center has tallied six goals and 15 assists in 37 games this season. He announced prior to the start of the year that 2025-26 will be his final campaign.
The Kings' center depth beyond Kopitar consists of Quinton Byfield, Alex Turcotte, and Samuel Helenius. Los Angeles notably traded veteran center Phillip Danault to the Montreal Canadiens for a second-round pick in December.
