The New Jersey Devils re-signed goaltender Jake Allen to a five-year contract with a $1.8-million cap hit, the team announced Tuesday.

Allen posted a .908 save percentage and a 2.59 goals-against average in 31 games last season.

The 34-year-old was considered the top unrestricted free-agent goaltender.

New Jersey's starting goalie, Jacob Markstrom, has one season left on his contract at a $6-million cap hit.

The Devils acquired Allen from the Montreal Canadiens in 2024 for a third-round pick. He's compiled a 19-22-2 record since arriving in New Jersey.

Allen has played 460 games over 12 NHL seasons and has a career .907 save percentage with the St. Louis Blues, Canadiens, and Devils.
