The Detroit Red Wings traded forward Vladimir Tarasenko to the Minnesota Wild for future considerations, the teams announced Monday.
Tarasenko tallied 11 goals and 33 points in 80 games last season. It was the first time he failed to reach the 50-point mark since an injury-shortened 2020-21.
The 33-year-old has one year left on his contract at a $4.75-million cap hit.
Tarasenko notched 23 goals and 55 points in 2023-24 between the Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers. He went on to contribute nine points in 24 playoff contests to help Florida win their first of back-to-back Stanley Cups.
The Wild have $13 million of projected cap space after adding Tarasenko, according to PuckPedia. Detroit now has over $23 million of room.
