Senators re-sign Giroux to 1-year deal worth up to $4.75M
The Ottawa Senators re-signed forward Claude Giroux to a one-year contract with a $2-million base salary, the team announced Sunday.

Giroux must play in 50% of Ottawa's playoff games to earn the postseason performance bonuses.
The 37-year-old tallied 15 goals and 50 points in 81 contests last season. Giroux joined the Senators in 2022 on a three-year contract that carried a $6.5 million cap hit.
"Claude brings veteran leadership and a competitive edge to our group and has been a consistent presence on and off the ice," Senators general manager Steve Staios said. "We are excited to bring him back next season."
The Hearst, Ontario, native has recorded 71 goals and 193 points in 245 games with the Senators. Over his 1,263-game career, Giroux has totaled 365 goals and 1,116 points.
