Hurricanes turn to Kochetkov for Game 3
Carolina Hurricanes head coach Rod Brind'Amour announced Saturday that goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov will start Game 3 against the Florida Panthers.
Brind'Amour added that he wants to "change the vibe" with the Canes trailing 2-0 in the series.
Frederik Andersen has started 11 of Carolina's 12 games this postseason, but the veteran has been shelled for nine goals on 36 shots so far in the Eastern Conference Final. He entered the series with a .937 save percentage in the playoffs, but it's now down to .907.
Kochetkov entered Game 2 in relief of Andersen and stopped four of five shots. He posted an .897 save percentage in 47 starts during the regular season. The 25-year-old owns a 2-4 record with an .871 save percentage in nine career playoff appearances.
