Avalanche force Game 7 after Stars' costly own goal
The Colorado Avalanche forced a winner-takes-all Game 7 with a 7-4 victory Thursday against the Dallas Stars.
Midway through the third period, Stars forward Sam Steel attempted to clear the puck but inadvertently hit teammate Colin Blackwell. The puck ricocheted off Blackwell and past goaltender Jake Oettinger, an own goal that stood as the game-winner.
