Report: Bruins' Frederic attracting lots of trade interest
Numerous teams are calling the Boston Bruins about the potential availability of forward Trent Frederic, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.
Frederic is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent next summer and counts for a $2.3-million cap hit. It's unclear where contract negotiations stand between Frederic and the Bruins, Friedman reports.
Boston enters Saturday's tilt with the Vancouver Canucks in the third spot in the Atlantic Division but only one point ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning with four extra games played.
The Bruins have righted the ship since firing head coach Jim Montgomery, going 7-4-0 under Joe Sacco.
Frederic was a first-round draft pick of the club in 2016. He set career highs with 18 goals and 40 points last season despite averaging only 13:45 per game. The 26-year-old has 11 points in 31 games in 2024-25 and ranks second on the team with 95 hits.
