Report: Giants hiring Dennard Wilson as DC
The New York Giants are hiring Dennard Wilson as their defensive coordinator, sources told NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Wilson spent the last two years as the Tennessee Titans' defensive coordinator. He marks the first significant addition to head coach John Harbaugh's staff.
The 43-year-old wasn't retained by the Titans' new head coach, Robert Saleh. Before joining Tennessee in 2024, Wilson worked as a defensive backs coach under Harbaugh with the Baltimore Ravens. He also served as a defensive backs coach with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2021 to 2022.
The Titans ranked ninth in the NFL for fewest passing yards allowed per game (203.9) over Wilson's two-year tenure. During his first season as the team's defensive coordinator in 2024, his unit finished second in total yards surrendered per contest (311.2).
New York boasted one of the league's worst defenses under Brian Daboll and interim head coach Mike Kafka from 2022 to 2025, placing 29th in yards allowed per play across the stretch.
The Giants are still searching for an offensive coordinator. Harbaugh made his first coordinator hire earlier Sunday, bringing in Chris Horton to run the special teams unit, according to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz.
