Report: Titans to interview McDaniel for head coaching job
Former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is scheduled to interview for the Tennessee Titans' vacant head coaching job, sources told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
The interview will reportedly take place Wednesday.
It's the first reported interview for McDaniel, whom the Dolphins fired Thursday after four seasons together. The Cleveland Browns are also interested in McDaniel, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
The Detroit Lions have reportedly reached out to McDaniel about their vacant offensive coordinator position as well.
The Dolphins built an elite offense and made two playoff appearances in McDaniel's first two seasons in town. However, Miami regressed the next two years, posting losing records during the 2024 and 2025 campaigns.
The Tennessee Titans have requested several head coaching interviews as they look for a full-time replacement for Brian Callahan, who lost his job midway through the 2025 season. Bringing in a new offensive-minded coach, such as McDaniel, could be huge for quarterback Cam Ward's development.
The 2025 No. 1 pick completed 59.8% of his passes for 3,169 yards and 15 touchdowns against seven interceptions in 17 appearances as a rookie. He also rushed for two TDs.
