The Las Vegas Raiders placed star pass-rusher Maxx Crosby on injured reserve Saturday, ending his 2025 campaign.

"We have made the decision to place Maxx Crosby on the reserve/injured list for the remainder of the 2025 season," the team said in a statement. "After deliberate and through consultation with multiple top medical professionals, it became clear that this decision is in the best interest of both the franchise and the player."

The announcement comes after Crosby left the team's facility Friday following a disagreement over its decision to hold him out of the final two regular-season games. Head coach Pete Carroll said that he'd spoken with Crosby four times prior to his departure, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Crosby reportedly needs knee surgery, sources told Schefter, which would sideline him into the offseason.

The edge rusher finishes the campaign with 28 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 15 games. Crosby's 2024 season was cut short as well to address a high ankle sprain.

The Raiders also placed Pro Bowl tight end Brock Bowers on injured reserve Wednesday. They'll face the New York Giants on Sunday in a contest that could decide who secures the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Las Vegas has denied speculation that it sidelined its top stars to bolster the team's draft position, insisting that the moves were made in the best interest of the players.

Offensive standouts Geno Smith, Ashton Jeanty, and Tre Tucker are expected to be available for the team's final two regular-season games.
