Cowboys' Lamb, Pickens both score 1st-half TDs after early benching

Cowboys wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens weren't on the field for Dallas' first offensive possession against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football.

They were benched due to a "coach's decision," and it wasn't injury-related, a Cowboys official told ESPN's Lisa Salters. The reason why Brian Schottenheimer decided to sit his two starting wide receivers is unknown.

Ryan Flournoy, KaVontae Turpin, and Jalen Tolbert were the three wideouts playing with Pickens and Lamb on the sidelines. Dallas proceeded to go three-and-out on its first possession.

However, both wide receivers made an impact later in the first half. Lamb hauled in the first touchdown of the game, getting open behind the Raiders' defense for an easy 18-yard score.

Pickens, who had over 100 receiving yards in this first half alone, extended the Cowboys' lead by making defenders miss for a 37-yard touchdown.

The wide receiver duo accounted for over half of the Cowboys' receiving yards over the first eight games this year. Dallas, sitting in second place in the NFC East, was 3-5-1 heading into Monday night.
