Travis Hunter will play snaps at wide receiver and cornerback in the Jacksonville Jaguars' first preseason game Saturday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, head coach Liam Coen said Thursday, according to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe.

Coen added that his other starters, including quarterback Trevor Lawrence, will also get playing time.

Hunter was listed as a starting wideout and a second-string cornerback on the Jaguars' first unofficial depth chart this week, per Jamal St. Cyr of News4JAX.

The 22-year-old has lined up at both positions throughout training camp. He won the Heisman Trophy at Colorado last season, taking college football by storm with his impressive ability on both offense and defense.

Jacksonville traded a 2026 first-round pick plus other draft capital to move up and select Hunter No. 2 overall in this year's draft. Hunter played 753 snaps on offense and 776 snaps on defense last season with the Buffaloes, according to PFF.

"He's so talented, it's hard to keep him off the field," Lawrence said of Hunter this week, according to Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith. "Selfishly, I definitely want him on offense more.

"And I told him, 'Do you want to catch touchdowns or do you want to maybe break up a pass or two? That's a decision you have to make.' He'll make plays wherever he is, but obviously as a quarterback, I hope he plays more on offense. Wherever he plays to make us better, because he will make us better, I'm all for wherever that is."

Hunter totaled 153 receptions, 1,979 receiving yards, and 20 touchdowns in two seasons at Colorado. He also racked up 66 tackles and 20 passes defended on the other side of the ball.
