Jimmy Graham intends to retire with Saints

Veteran tight end Jimmy Graham plans to retire from the NFL this year as a member of the New Orleans Saints.

Graham appeared to confirm the news on X in response to a post from team reporter John DeShazier.

The 38-year-old last played in the NFL during the 2023 season for New Orleans following a year-long absence in 2022. He made six receptions for 39 yards and four touchdowns in his final campaign.

The Saints selected the 6-foot-7, 265-pound tight end in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. The Miami product played just one year of college football after playing basketball for the school from 2005-09.

Graham tallied 8,545 yards and 89 touchdowns on 719 receptions in his career. He recorded two 1,000-yard campaigns and made 99 catches in 2011. The Greensboro, North Carolina, native earned five Pro Bowl nods and was named a first-team All-Pro in 2013.

Graham spent six seasons with the Saints over two stints with the franchise. He also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, and Chicago Bears.

The former NFL star participated in the Arctic Challenge, a rowing expedition across the Arctic Ocean, earlier in July. His four-person team finished in a world-record time of 10 days and 5 hours, according to the Ocean Rowing Society, per ESPN's Katherine Terrell.
