Report: 49ers releasing Juszczyk after 8 seasons
The San Francisco 49ers are releasing fullback Kyle Juszczyk after eight seasons, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The nine-time Pro Bowler would like to continue to his career after becoming a free agent, Schefter adds.
Juszczyk signed a five-year, $27-million extension with the Niners in 2021 and will hit the open market one year after restructuring his contract. He was scheduled to earn $4.1 million in base salary in 2025, per Over the Cap.
The Harvard product joined San Francisco after spending the first four campaigns of his career with the Baltimore Ravens.
Displaying versatility both as a runner and receiver out of the backfield, Juszczyk caught 184 receptions for 1,895 yards and 13 touchdowns while adding another five rushing scores during his time in San Francisco.
