Washington Commanders wideout Deebo Samuel can't wait to get started with his new team ahead of next season.

"I think this is one of the best possible fits for me, where I can go in and help a team," Samuel wrote in a piece for The Players' Tribune. "Honestly, when my agent asked me where I wanted to go, this was one of the teams at the top of my list."

Washington acquired Samuel from the San Francisco 49ers earlier in March for a fifth-round pick. The versatile receiver requested permission to seek a trade this offseason.

Samuel said he started watching Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels when the latter was in college at LSU, calling him "a stud." He added that he's excited to team up with fellow receiver Terry McLaurin, who just made his first career All-Pro team and was part of the same draft class as Samuel.

"I got a feeling this season is about to be one of them ones," Samuel wrote.

Samuel is a former All-Pro but is coming off one of his worst seasons in the NFL. He tallied 670 receiving yards and four total touchdowns in 2024.

However, the 29-year-old is looking ahead to a new beginning in Washington.

"D.C., we coming," Samuel wrote.
