Cincinnati Bengals running back Chase Brown avoided a major ankle injury Saturday versus the Denver Broncos and could play in the team's regular-season finale, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Brown left the game and didn't return after going down at the 1-yard line in the final two minutes to milk the clock. Head coach Zac Taylor said after the contest that Brown sprained his ankle during the play, according to Chris Roling of Bengals Wire.

The 24-year-old finished the game with 24 touches for 91 yards. Khalil Herbert was the team's primary running back after Brown left.

Brown has played at least 80% of Cincinnati's offensive snaps in each of the last eight games. He has 229 carries for 990 yards and 11 total touchdowns in 16 contests.
