LaFleur: Love's playing his best football ever
Matt LaFleur had nothing but praise for Jordan Love, saying the Green Bay Packers quarterback is performing better than ever.
"This is the best ball he's played," LaFleur said during Thursday's press conference. "His ability to manipulate the pocket, when he's under duress. ... I think he's playing at a really high level."
Love has thrown for 2,953 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in his second season as the Packers' starter. He ranks seventh in the league in touchdowns despite missing two contests due to an MCL sprain.
The 26-year-old has thrown just one interception in his last six games since Green Bay's bye week, ranking third in completion percentage (63%) and second in yards per attempt (9.6) over that period. Love ranked 31st in completion percentage (40.7%) before the bye.
"I just think the consistency of which he now plays the game, you would expect that - the more reps you get, the better you'll be," LaFleur said.
Love similarly shone in the second half of last season. The signal-caller posted a 3-6 record with 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions to start 2023 before going 6-2 with 18 touchdowns and one pick to lead Green Bay into the playoffs.
"I think a lot of this is decision-making. There's definitely a trend, and I just want to keep getting better throughout the course of the season," Love told reporters Thursday, including USA Today's Ryan Wood.
The Packers are 10-4 and hope to inch closer to a playoff spot when they play the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football.
