Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is week-to-week after injuring his ribs in Sunday's win over the Carolina Panthers, head coach Dan Quinn told reporters Monday, including The Washington Post's Nicki Jhabvala.

"We're hopeful he can play, but we'll also make sure to take every precautionary step and do it smartly for the player and the man," Quinn said.

Daniels was replaced by Marcus Mariota after being ruled out during the 40-7 victory. The veteran backup completed 78.3% of his passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 34 yards on 11 carries.

The Commanders' upcoming schedule includes a home matchup against the Chicago Bears, a road game versus the division-rival New York Giants, and a home contest with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Daniels has been one of the NFL's most productive quarterbacks in his rookie season. The LSU product has 1,410 passing yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions plus 372 yards and four more scores rushing. The No. 2 pick also leads the league with a 75.6% completion rate.
