The New England Patriots are making a change at quarterback.

Drake Maye will make his first career start against the Houston Texans on Sunday, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Maye, the third overall pick in April's draft, has seen limited action in just one regular-season game. The North Carolina product completed 4 of 8 pass attempts for 22 yards late in the team's Week 3 loss to the New York Jets. He also had two carries for 16 yards.

The decision to start the 22-year-old comes after Jacoby Brissett struggled to move the ball efficiently through the team's first five games. The veteran has thrown for 696 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception with a 58.5% completion rate. New England's 119.4 passing yards per game ranks last in the league with the next closest team averaging 136.

Houston's defense ranks fourth in total yards allowed per game (274.2) and tied for 17th in points surrendered per contest (22.8). The unit has also accrued 15 sacks and three interceptions.

The Patriots bring a 1-4 record into the matchup with the 4-1 Texans.
