49ers' Shanahan 'extremely frustrated' after blowing another lead

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is tired of his team blowing early leads.

"Extremely frustrated," Shanahan said of the 49ers' 24-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, according to NFL.com's Kevin Patra. "By no means should we be able to give that away. Always will come back to turnovers, in my opinion. There are other things you can do to overcome them."

The 49ers built a 23-10 lead in the first half but failed to score in the second. Shanahan's club surrendered a 10-point fourth-quarter advantage to mark its second collapse against a divisional opponent in the last three weeks. The Los Angeles Rams completed a 14-point comeback in Week 3.

San Francisco's offense finished the contest with three turnovers against Arizona's one. Brock Purdy threw a pair of picks and Jordan Mason lost a fumble.

Red-zone efficiency was also an issue. The 49ers scored just one touchdown in six trips inside the 20-yard line.

"Same thing I said all last week, not very good," Shanahan said of his team's inability to finish drives. "We were middle of the pack before today started, and we got a lot worse today."

Nick Bosa believes the team needs to "turn the page on this one" and that "it's kind of a blessing in disguise that we're playing this Thursday."

San Francisco is now 2-3 and tied for second in the NFC West with the Cardinals. The 49ers will look to prevent another divisional-game collapse against the 3-2 Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football.
