Charles Omenihu is grateful to the San Francisco 49ers after beginning the season with the Houston Texans.

"A lot more structure," the defensive end said Wednesday, according to the San Jose Mercury's Cam Inman. "The leadership between coach and GM doesn't seem like a power struggle. They're on the same page, have an understanding what they want, and make it clear."

"It's not a circus show here," the 2019 fifth-round pick added.

The Texans traded Omenihu to the 49ers in November for a late-round selection in the 2022 draft. He helped San Francisco reach the playoffs and had 1.5 sacks in its wild-card game win over the Dallas Cowboys.

While the 49ers surged in the second half of the campaign, the Texans floundered to a 4-13 mark. Houston fired head coach David Culley after one season, citing philosophical differences.

The Texans have seemingly suffered from dysfunction for multiple seasons. The franchise made sweeping changes to management, the coaching staff, and the roster after it won only four games in 2020.
