Chiefs' Hill: Playing with Julio Jones 'would be amazing'

If the Kansas City Chiefs decide to enter into the Julio Jones sweepstakes, their current No. 1 wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, would be more than happy to welcome the Atlanta Falcons star.

"If I could play alongside Julio Jones, that would be amazing," Hill said Friday, according to Taylor Eldridge of The Kansas City Star. "I was in high school when he was doing his thing at Alabama, and I've been a fan ever since. How big he is, how fast he is, and how dominant he is, we all know Julio is arguably the best in the game. If I'm able to play alongside Julio, I would love it."

The Chiefs already own the most prolific passing attack in the game, led by Hill, quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and tight end Travis Kelce. The AFC West club's 301.9 yards per game through the air topped the NFL last season, far ahead of the second-placed Houston Texans at 283.6 yards.

Adding Jones, a seven-time Pro Bowler who's racked up a league-leading 12,896 yards since being drafted in 2011, would allow Kansas City to field arguably the NFL's most talented offense.

But the current AFC champions would face stiff competition if they want to acquire Jones. The Tennessee Titans, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and New England Patriots are reportedly pursuing the veteran.

Jones apparently requested a trade earlier this offseason. The 32-year-old made it clear in late May that his time in Atlanta was done, telling Shannon Sharpe of "Undisputed" that he's "outta there" when asked about his future.

The Falcons, who could alleviate their cap issues by trading Jones, reportedly are seeking a second-round pick.
