Beckham: Giants thought they'd send me to Cleveland 'to die'

Odell Beckham Jr. continues to believe the New York Giants had ulterior motives for trading him to the Cleveland Browns in March.

Beckham told Ben Baskin of Sports Illustrated that he thought the Giants would ship him out of town even after inking the receiver to a lucrative five-year, $95-million extension.

When the Giants did move on from the star wideout, Beckham says the conversation with general manager Dave Gettleman was a short one. He claims that New York received better offers than what the Browns gave up - one first-round pick, one third-round pick, and safety Jabrill Peppers - but chose to send him to Cleveland, a team that hasn't made the playoffs since 2002.

"This wasn't no business move. This was personal," Beckham said. "They thought they'd send me here to die."

Instead, the Browns enter the 2019 season with 18-1 odds at Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook to win the Super Bowl. The Giants, meanwhile, have the second-lowest odds at 200-1.
