Paris Saint-Germain forward Ferran Torres has left the Spanish national team's training camp due to a left ankle injury, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) announced on Friday.
The RFEF said in a press release that it had released the 26-year-old, who had been suffering from pain in his left ankle for several days, to "prioritise his recovery".
Torres, who scored the winning goal in the 2026 World Cup final this summer, will be replaced by 21-year-old Real Madrid forward Carlos Espi for the next two UEFA Nations League matches against the Czech Republic and Croatia.
Torres is the third Spanish player to depart early from international duty in recent days, following on from winger Nico Williams and left-back Alejandro Grimaldo.
Spain have made a flying start to Group A3 with an opening 3-2 against England at Wembley, followed up by a statement 4-1 success over Croatia in Seville on Tuesday.
