GIF: Alex Edler catches Tomas Hertl with headshot
Late in the second period of Thursday night's game between the Canucks and Sharks, Canucks defenseman Alex Edler caught a stooped Tomas Hertl in the head with his shoulder.
Edler was suspended for two games last season after running Mike Smith, so he would be considered a repeat. He was also suspended by the IIHF for a knee-on-knee hit on Eric Staal during the World Championship tournament this past May.
