A nine-game slate Tuesday to follow up a light Monday card? That's more like it. Here are the best betting angles to consider for tonight's NBA action.

Dallas Mavericks at San Antonio Spurs (+3.5, 227)

There are few teams in the league better to bet when coming off a loss than the Mavericks. Dallas, which dropped a home game Sunday to the Indiana Pacers, is 13-3 straight-up following a loss and on a 19-6-1 run against the spread. The Mavs are also 16-4-1 ATS in their last 21 as road favorites and 13-3 ATS in the last 16 meetings between these two in San Antonio. Meanwhile, the Spurs are on a dreadful 0-7 run ATS and haven't covered in any of their last four as underdogs.

Trend play: Mavericks -3.5

Cleveland Cavaliers at Chicago Bulls (-3.5, 216)

Despite being 26 games below .500, the Cavaliers are the side the trends point to for this road game against the Bulls. Cleveland is on a blistering run against teams with winning percentages lower than .400, as it's 30-14-1 ATS in its last 45. The Cavaliers are also 6-0 ATS in their last six against teams with losing home records and 6-1 ATS as road underdogs. Comparatively, the Bulls are 1-5 ATS in their previous six games following a win versus the line, 1-4 ATS the last five as home favorites, and 5-11 against the number in their last 16 overall.

Trend play: Cavaliers +3.5

Boston Celtics at Indiana Pacers (+3, 215)

The Celtics aren't in the top 10 in the NBA in scoring, but their offense has turned it up a notch away from home. Boston has gone over the total in each of its last five as a road favorite, averaging 118.4 points per game during that period and going over the team total in all five. The Celtics are also 8-2 to the over in their last 10 following a SU loss and 4-1 to the over in their previous five road games. The Pacers, too, are trending over, cashing four of their last five overall and nine of their last 14 home games following a road trip of seven or more days.

Trend play: Over 215

New York Knicks at Washington Wizards (-4.5, 228.5)

The Wizards have primarily been an "over" team this season, but that's not automatic here. Washington is 7-1 to the under in its last eight against teams with losing records and 5-2 to the under in its previous seven after a double-digit loss at home. The Knicks have cashed six of the last seven unders against teams with losing records. These two clubs have played seven of the last eight games under the total and each of the last four when the meeting comes in Washington.

Trend play: Under 228.5

Phoenix Suns at Portland Trail Blazers (-4.5, 232)

The Suns should have some confidence when they go to Portland, as they're coming off a game in which they hung 140 points in a win against the Milwaukee Bucks. Their offense is certainly feeling it, as the team has gone over the total in four of the last five as an underdog and four of the last five overall. The Trail Blazers have also recently come through for over bettors, hitting five of the last six played on two or more days of rest, nine of the previous 12 following an ATS loss, and 19 of the last 26 after suffering a double-digit home loss.

Trend play: Over 232
