Ole Miss downgraded Kewan Lacy to doubtful Friday on the SEC availability report, making it unlikely that the running back suits up Saturday against Florida.
Lacy missed the second half of last week's win over LSU after suffering a shoulder injury. Rebels head coach Pete Golding later said he held the junior out as a precaution.
Lacy has totaled 191 yards and four touchdowns on 39 carries this season, giving him an average of 4.9 yards per carry. He and quarterback Trinidad Chambliss make up one of the most electric backfields in college football.
Running back JT Lindsey, an offseason transfer from LSU, figures to get the bulk of the carries against Florida if Lacy indeed sits out. Lindsey has 12 carries for 48 yards this season.
Ole Miss (3-0) is ranked fourth in the latest AP Poll after beating Louisville, Charlotte, and LSU to open the season. Florida (3-0) is No. 21 after picking up wins over Florida Atlantic, Campbell, and Auburn.
