ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — No. 11 Oklahoma took a hit in the first quarter against Michigan when it lost standout linebacker Kip Lewis to a knee injury on Saturday.
Lewis hurt his right knee early in the game and injured it again late in the first quarter. After Lewis' last play, he hobbled off the field, keeping weight off his right leg, and slammed his helmet when he got to sideline.
The fifth-year senior is one of the top players on one of the nation's best defenses. He is on watch lists for three awards for defensive players.
Lewis led the Sooners with 76 tackles last season, including 10 1/2 for losses. In 2024, he had 65 tackles and four sacks and returned interceptions for touchdowns against Auburn and Alabama.
