Nick Saban has signed a three-year extension at Alabama, the Crimson Tide announced Monday.

Saban is now tied to the program through the 2028 season.

"Coach Saban is the best college football coach in the nation, and one of the greatest coaches of all time in any sport, and we are extremely fortunate that he has agreed to another contract extension at Alabama," said athletic director Greg Byrne.

Saban is coming off his sixth national championship in 14 seasons with Alabama. The Crimson Tide haven't gone more than two years without winning the NCAA title since Saban arrived in Tuscaloosa.

Under his leadership, Alabama has become college football's most vaunted powerhouse. The Tide haven't lost more than two games in a season since 2010, and they posted perfect seasons in 2009 and 2020. The school has ranked No. 1 in the AP for at least one week in a record 13 straight years.

Saban will turn 70 on Oct. 31. He'll be 77 when his new deal expires Feb. 28, 2029.
