Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey has undergone season-ending surgery to address ongoing discomfort and bone stress in his left ankle, the team announced Tuesday.
Edey's expected to make a full recovery ahead of next season.
The Canadian big man made just 11 appearances during the 2025-26 campaign, averaging 13.6 points, 11.1 boards, and 1.9 blocks.
Memphis selected Edey with the No. 9 overall pick two years ago. The 7-foot-3 center is slated to be a big part of the franchise's long-term plans following the midseason trade of Jaren Jackson Jr. and with uncertainty over Ja Morant's future.
The Grizzlies are 11th in the West and sit five games back of the Portland Trail Blazers for the conference's final play-in tournament spot.
