Denver Nuggets forward Peyton Watson will be sidelined at least four weeks with a right hamstring strain, the team announced Friday.

Watson sustained the injury during the fourth quarter of Wednesday's double-overtime loss to the New York Knicks.

The UCLA product has been enjoying a breakout campaign, averaging 14.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.2 blocks, and one steal across 49 appearances this season.

Denver is scoring an additional 10.4 points per 100 possessions when Watson is on the floor.

Watson's emergence has been crucial for the Nuggets as several key players have suffered injuries.

Nikola Jokic recently returned from a 16-game absence, while Christian Braun was back in the lineup Tuesday after nearly a month on the sidelines.

Aaron Gordon is reportedly out a minimum of four-to-six weeks after re-aggravating a hamstring strain, and offseason acquisition Cameron Johnson hasn't played since Dec. 23 due to a knee injury.

Denver (33-19) sits third in the Western Conference entering play Friday.
