Report: 76ers' George expected to make season debut vs. Clippers
Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George is expected to make his season debut on Monday against his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
George has yet to play this season after undergoing left knee surgery in July, but he's been ramping up his workload in recent weeks for his impending return.
Injuries also marred the nine-time All-Star's 2024-25 campaign, with knee, finger, and groin issues limiting him to 41 games.
George averaged 16.2, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists last season after signing a four-year, $212-million contract with Philadelphia in the summer of 2024. The six-time All-NBA standout spent five seasons with the Clippers between 2019 and 2024.
The Sixers regain one of their key starters as they deal with other injuries in their starting rotation. Kelly Oubre Jr. reportedly sustained an LCL injury last week and could miss significant time. Joel Embiid will miss his fourth consecutive game on Monday due to right knee soreness.
Philadelphia sits sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 7-5 record.
