Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was fined $50,000 for "directing inappropriate language and making an obscene gesture toward" a Los Angeles Lakers fan, the league announced Tuesday.
The incident occurred midway through the third quarter of the T-Wolves' 117-95 victory over the Lakers in Game 1 of their first-round series.
This is Edwards' seventh fine of the season.
His six previous fines totaled $320,000. His transgressions included criticism of game officials, making obscene gestures, profanity in a postgame interview, and throwing the ball into the stands.
The Timberwolves led by as many as 27 points in Game 1. Edwards tallied 22 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.
Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday night at 10 p.m. ET.
