Sabonis, Nikola Jokic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo are the only players in the league averaging at least 20 points, 10 boards, and five assists. <p>Five-star recruit Alijah Arenas, the son of former NBA player Gilbert Arenas, committed Thursday to playing for USC next season.</p><p>He <a href="https://x.com/GilsArenaShow/status/1885074764055695777">announced</a> his decision on his father's podcast, "GilsArenaShow."</p><p>Arenas is the 12th-ranked recruit and third-ranked shooting guard of his class, per <a href="https://www.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/playerrankings">ESPN</a>. He chose the Trojans over Kentucky, Louisville, and Arizona, per <a href="https://x.com/TiptonEdits/status/1885071604511637780">On3's Joe Tipton</a>.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>The 6-foot-5 scoring guard is the third top-100 recruit to commit to Eric Musselman's squad for next season.</p><p>Alijah's father, Gilbert, spent two seasons at Arizona and was selected 31st overall in the 2001 NBA Draft. He spent 11 seasons in the Association, most of which came with the Washington Wizards and Golden State Warriors, and was a three-time All-Star.</p><p>Musselman is in his first year with USC. The Trojans are 12-8 overall and in the midst of their inaugural season in the Big Ten.</p>

Ball only appeared in 22 games last season due to recurring ankle issues, and his 2022-23 campaign was also shortened after he fractured his right ankle and eventually got surgery. </p><p>The Hornets are 12-32 and sit 14th in the East. They'll host the Los Angeles Clippers and Denver Nuggets on back-to-back nights Friday and Saturday, respectively.</p>

She also led the Bears to an NCAA title in 2012.</p><p>Atlanta is looking to rebound from last season's 15-25 finish. <p>The Cleveland Cavaliers have shown interest in acquiring Brooklyn Nets sharpshooter <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/37658" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/37658">Cam Johnson</a>, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6068858/2025/01/17/cavaliers-cam-johnson-trade-interest-nba-rumors/">The Athletic's Joe Vardon</a> reports.</p><p>Cleveland is seeking to boost its size and physicality, Vardon notes. <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/44998" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/44998">Donovan Mitchell</a> and <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/70243" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/70243">Darius Garland</a>, in particular, are both under 6-foot-4.</p><p>Johnson is 6-foot-8 and is shooting 42.8% from three. The North Carolina product is also averaging a career-high 19.2 points, as well as 4.2 rebounds and three assists in 33 games this campaign. He has two more seasons remaining on his deal after 2024-25.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>Cleveland isn't interested in moving any core pieces but could still match Johnson's $22.5-million salary without dealing one of its top eight players, per Vardon. The Cavaliers also have a bevy of second-rounders but can't trade a first-round selection until 2031.</p><p>The Nets, meanwhile, have made it clear that everyone is available as they dive head-first into a rebuild.</p><p>"We're going to have to be systematic with some of the decisions we make. And they may not always be in line with winning the next game or putting the most talent out there," Brooklyn general manager Sean Marks <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///news/3188020" href="https://thescore.com/news/3188020">said</a> last week.</p><p>The Nets have already moved versatile 3-and-D wing <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/11858" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/11858">Dorian Finney-Smith</a> to the Los Angeles Lakers, reacquiring <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/37752" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/37752">D'Angelo Russell</a> and his expiring deal while landing three second-round picks.</p><p>Brooklyn also shipped point guard <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/30613" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/30613">Dennis Schroder</a> to the Golden State Warriors for <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/53030" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/53030">De'Anthony Melton</a>, rookie <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/121722" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/121722">Reece Beekman</a>, and three second-rounders.</p><p>The Nets have lost nine of their last 11 contests.</p><p>The NBA trade deadline is Feb. 6 at 3 p.m. ET.</p>

She will receive a one-year, supermax deal, valued at roughly $249,000. In exchange, the Fever gain exclusive negotiating rights.</p><p>The 29-year-old could still join another squad via sign-and-trade. Butler intends to use his $52-million player option for next season as a trade maneuver.</p><p>Butler is in the midst of his worst statistical season since joining the Heat in the 2019 offseason, averaging 17.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in 22 games.</p><p>Miami has reportedly been in contact with multiple teams regarding a potential trade, but nothing concrete has materialized.</p><p>The Heat went 3-4 in the seven games without Butler and sit ninth in the Eastern Conference.</p>

<p>Denver Nuggets guard <a data-in-app-uri="thescore:///nba/players/44995" href="https://thescore.com/nba/players/44995">Jamal Murray</a> isn't fazed by the increased criticism he's received since signing a four-year, $209-million maximum contract extension in the offseason.</p><p>"I literally signed up for it," Murray quipped after his season-best 45-point outburst in a 118-99 win versus the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, according to the <a href="https://x.com/BennettDurando/status/1879419328736768396">Denver Post's Bennett Durando</a>.</p><p>Nuggets head coach Michael Malone defended his starting point guard's new contract.</p><div class="the-score-article-ad-unit"></div><p>"Jamal Murray didn't pay himself $54 million. We did that as an organization because we believe in him. We don't win our first franchise championship without Jamal Murray."</p><p>The 27-year-old is in the final year of his current five-year contract and has struggled to live up to his $36-million price tag, averaging just 19.8 points and six assists with 44.7/38.1/85.2 shooting splits.</p><p>Tuesday marked just the second time that Murray surpassed 30 points in a game this season. It was his 10th career game of 40 or more points.</p><p>Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal called out Murray during the NBA on TNT pregame show. "It all starts with you, Jamal. Get to work," he said, per <a href="https://x.com/JoelRushNBA/status/1879397628586480084">Forbes' Joel Rush</a>.</p><p>Murray agreed with O'Neal's sentiments in his postgame interview.</p><p>"He's 100% right. I need to play my best, I need to play better. I've played terrible up until today," Murray stated, adding, "Just take this as a positive note and keep moving. You can't get too high, and you can't get too low."</p><p>The Kentucky product has often shined brightest in the postseason, averaging 24.2 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.9 rebounds while shooting 38.9% from deep in his 65 playoff contests. His postseason heroics include two 50-point games during the 2020 playoffs against the Utah Jazz and multiple game-winning buckets versus the Los Angeles Lakers in 2024.</p><p>The 24-15 Nuggets are riding a four-game winning streak and will face the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.</p>
