Report: 76ers trade Martin to Mavs for Grimes, 2nd-round pick
The Philadelphia 76ers are trading forward Caleb Martin to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for guard Quentin Grimes and the Sixers' 2025 second-round pick, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.
Martin signed a four-year, $35-million deal with Philadelphia over the summer.
The 29-year-old is averaging 9.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals in 31 games this season.
Prior to joining the Sixers, he played three seasons with the Miami Heat and two with the Charlotte Hornets alongside his twin brother, Cody Martin.
The Mavericks acquired Grimes in the offseason as part of a trade that sent Tim Hardaway Jr. to the Detroit Pistons.
Grimes, 24, averaged 10.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists with Dallas. The 2021 first-round pick is a free agent at the end of the season.
The Mavericks acquired Max Christie, who plays the same position as Grimes, in the Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade.
The Sixers and Mavs play in Philadelphia at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
