Thunder pummel Nets for 2nd 10-game winning streak of season
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 20 points in 26 minutes as the Oklahoma City Thunder steamrolled the Brooklyn Nets 121-92 for their 10th consecutive victory.
It's Oklahoma City's second 10-game winning streak of the campaign following a franchise-record 16-game run earlier this season.
Jared McCain scored a team-high 26 in the win, setting another season-high for the second-year guard since his arrival from the Philadelphia 76ers. He's now up to 11.9 points per game with the Thunder, nearly doubling the 6.6 points he averaged in 37 games this year with Philadelphia.
Gilgeous-Alexander narrowly extended his NBA record for games of 20-or-more points to 130 early in the second half before sitting out the remainder of the contest.
Jalen Wilson led the Nets with 15 points off the bench, while rookie guard Nolan Traore chipped in with 13 points on 4-of-11 shooting.
Brooklyn's 24 points at the half were the fewest first-half points in the NBA since 2016, according to ESPN statistician Matt Williams.
The win keeps the Thunder 3.5 games clear of the San Antonio Spurs, who have won 19 of their last 21 games to threaten Oklahoma City's reign atop the Western Conference dating back to November 2024. San Antonio was also responsible for snapping the Thunder's 16-game winning streak on Dec. 13.
The Nets have now lost five straight games and 15 of their last 17 contests.
