Lakers re-sign Caldwell-Pope to 3-year, $40M deal

The Los Angeles Lakers re-signed guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to a three-year, $40-million contract, his agent told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Caldwell-Pope averaged 9.3 points and 1.6 assists in 25.5 minutes per game while shooting 38.5% from deep with the Lakers last season.

He played a pivotal role for Los Angeles during the team's title run, shooting 37.8% from beyond the arc while averaging 10.7 points per game.

The 27-year-old signed with the Lakers as a free agent ahead of the 2017-18 season. He previously spent four campaigns with the Detroit Pistons, who selected him with the eighth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.
