Report: Lakers working out JR Smith this week

A reunion between LeBron James and JR Smith appears to be on the horizon, as the Los Angeles Lakers will work out the free-agent guard this week, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Smith played alongside James during the King's second tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2014 to 2018, winning an NBA title in 2016.
The 34-year-old, who boasts career averages of 12.5 points and 3.2 rebounds per game, hasn't appeared in an NBA contest since the 2018 campaign.
Smith isn't the only player the Lakers are eyeing, as the team is reportedly scheduled to have a workout session with Dion Waiters on Monday.
