These are scary hours for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

LeBron James will not take an in person meeting with the Cavaliers when free agency begins at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin. This decision comes one day after James declined his $35.6 million player option for 2018-19.

Contact will continue over the phone between Cleveland and James' agent Rich Paul. James has yet to meet with Cleveland since being ousted in the Finals and does not plan on hearing extravagant free agency pitches from anyone.

McMenamin also reports that re-signing James is "Plan A, B, and C" for the Cavaliers this summer. They can offer James $207 million over five years, while other teams can only offer four years and $152 million.

The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly the main contenders along with Cleveland for James' services this summer, while the Philadelphia 76ers and Houston Rockets remain as outside shots at the best player in basketball.
